Anyway, he'll be along, smiling and breaking into a brisk stride when he sees her.]
Oh, hey! Look at that one!

Look, the flowers look like little bowties!

Does it matter if they are? They wouldn't have evolved to be able to poison whatever you are, would they? No offense?

[they're not natural resistances, either. she's been poisoned enough by rad weapons and corrosive ones that she's built up a small immunity. not much, but enough.]
If this kills me you can have my knives.

[He seems more bemused than concerned, although that's just because he's also pretty sure she's fine.]
no subject
...
...You don't feel sick, do you?

[Though it's an interesting thought...he spins the flower's stem between his fingers thoughtfully.]
I know I don't have human biology. Haven't been eating regularly or anything, and it's fine. But I guess they could have just...shoved some more weaknesses in there.
1/2 i'm sorry
[shit. she's kind of concerned about this guy now? damn it.]

[Michael, who did not see the punch coming at all, reacts about the same as anybody would when punched in the stomach!]
What the fuck?
no subject
...there was only really one way to find out about that, wasn't there?]
Sorry. That was for science.

[Well, at least he doesn't seem angry? Although he's certainly kind of upset. He's shaking it off fairly quickly, though - when you start in Human Relations, they teach you about what human pain feels like, and the lessons go a lot harder than a punch to the gut.]

[so it wasn't science, it was curiosity...?]
I wondered how resilient your body is.
no subject
Uh. That sounded less weird and creepy in my head?
no subject
They build them tough in terms of function - I'm not going to be taken out by a beating very easily. But part of why we take these forms is to learn how human pain works. Things have to hurt.
[So he can...get beaten up without dying way more than a human, but it's all gonna hurt the same amount. Great, cool, fantastic deal.]
no subject
[that actually makes her wince.]
A bit of a shit deal. Maybe stay out the line of fire when things inevitably go to hell again?
no subject
[Hey, even if it hurts, he can hold up! You don't get anywhere as a demon without a good pain tolerance!]
no subject
she plops the flower into michael's suit pocket.]
You are a strange one. Then again, I suppose if anyone here is intimate with the workings of mortality, it would be the afterlife guy, wouldn't it?
no subject
I don't know about that. Never been mortal before, myself. But I've had a body or two get destroyed - I'll be alright.
no subject
[it's what the tiger does, after all.]
And there will be no shame in it.
no subject
[It's something to keep in mind, he supposes. Michael certainly does appreciate the thought. But in practice? Can he ever actually justify putting some mortal in the line of fire just to save him some trouble?
But everything is fine now. So let's not worry about it - let's just spend some time looking at nice flowers.]
