Oh, probably.
I have no idea what it was they were worshipping.

[Not to mention, he doesn't draw all that many distinctions between the different human religions. The pagans are the ones who like the earth and moon and stuff?]

Do you know what they were trying to do? Here specifically.

From their weird passive-aggressive mutterings, it sounded like some sort of ritual to keep more of us from coming here.
Obviously didn't take.

Rituals involving sacrifice?

Some of them sacrificed themselves right off the edges of buildings.
Others kidnapped people, sewed them into deer carcasses, and then put those in huts that were then set on fire.
And there was some weird kid's game about skinning people. I'm not sure if that was part of it or just for fun.

I would assume it's all related. There are patterns throughout history. It may not be identical here but there's certainly links.

I'll admit I haven't always kept a very close eye on history.

They were just a bunch of little kids, anyway.
Although their flaying technique wasn't terrible.

This place, some human ones. It isn't perfect but there are similarities. And it does so like to remind us of our own faults.

I'm a lot more versed on more recent Earth history. There were periods when I was working on other things in the past.

Mid-twentieth century on, I'd say.
