[Michael will be receiving a pretty black box with a pair of gold cufflinks inside, each shaped like little miniature bowtie, with an inscription in Japanese for "self actualization".
The box is inside of a coffee cup with shocking white glaze dripped over it for a molten look, the inside of the ceramic mug glazed with a multi-chromatic shimmer. It's all wrapped up in champagne colored paper.

A note attached reads,

Michael,

You're certainly one of the more interesting people I've met here! I have to thank you for always answering my questions. There's quite a bit to know about you.

I hope you'll find these gifts useful at all, but remember that the cufflinks are actually a bit of a luck charm. Omamori with this inscription strengthen the truest and whollest self, if worn regularly, and are blessed by both myself and Maya. Hopefully you'll find them stylish, as well.

What is an omamori?

[Maya gave him one too, but he felt vaguely bad about asking her. Plus, now that he has two of them that look like completely different items, he's more confused.]

The simplest way to put it is like a lucky charm. You've heard of people carrying rabbit's feet for luck, haven't you?

It's similar to that, but the fortune in them is there as a blessing from a spiritualist. The fortune's used up over the year, but you're meant to carry it with you during that time.
