    The group wakes up in Team Galactic's headquarters, wearing Team Galactic's uniforms. After some introductions and only a tiny bit of infighting, they investigate and escape.

    The group meets with Commander Saturn at the resort. Though most of them, including Michael, go in ready for a fight, the conversation and debate that ensues is largely peaceful. The group learns that Saturn is more conflicted about Team Galactic's actions than he'd like to admit, and though he remains firmly on Cyrus's side, he seems to end up being sympathetic towards their cause. Whatever the case, many of them are now sympathetic towards him.

    Michael engages Saturn by reframing the debate in terms of moral philosophy, with somewhat mixed results. He also reveals that the people of Veilstone are still affected by the loss of their friends and family. This is much more effective, and Michael hones in on it for a little bit, before relenting and beginning to relate sympathetically to Saturn instead.

The group reaches Lake Valor and descends into its cavern system. Michael plays a rather significant part in summoning the wrath of a group of guardian Spiritomb, but it is absolutely not his fault you guys. Eventually, everyone talks the Spiritomb down and gains access to Azelf's chamber.

Having partially caused this, Michael first puts a Spiritomb to sleep, before trying to chat it up instead. Quaver learns how to scream like 108 damned souls.

6/30 -- WILLPOWER
    Upon entering the Lake guardian's chamber, the group finds a Team Galactic grunt there as well. They first attempt to talk her down, but it ends in Kayneth and Zelda engaging her in Pokemon battles. The grunt reveals herself to be Maylene, the former Veilstone Gym Leader, and beats both handily, but the experience of battling again along with the following conversations helps her recover herself somewhat. She agrees to help and leaves the group to heal Azelf, as well as with a teleporter to Eterna City.

It ends up falling to the party's Pokemon to calm the pair down.

The gang encounters Mesprit and has to talk to it about their feelings to reach its sanctum.

Michael's conversation with Mesprit goes very badly. He has difficulty admitting his attachment to the group, and refuses to own his lack of understanding of emotion even as Mesprit presses him about it. Eventually interpreting this as an attack on his ability to be friends with humans, he lashes out and shuts down.
