( Ah, there it is — and the snake shyly bumps the tip of its nose a little closer to the energy of the other Omen. This one is more difficult to form a concise shape out of. What creature is this? What is its form? And he isn't certain how much they might know; Susurrus really hasn't interacted with too many other Omens. )

Do you know whooosssse Ssssssleeper I am part of?

[It hums lightly and forms itself a little more, fluffing its feathers. It's an old thing, a creature Michael remembers having seen on Earth quite some time before humanity evolved.]

Let me see you. [It's not really a sight thing, more a mental prod.] We know you. Wouldn't have gotten this close otherwise.

( Susurrus understands, and focuses his own energy outwards, something intentional. He shares the image of himself, uncurls into something long and slender and black, but there's a distinctive iridescent glimmer to his scales as his muscles move.

There's a flick of a forked tongue, and a pair of unblinking black eyes.)

I am currently sssssomething that humanssss call a ssssnake.

Ah. Classic.

[Snakes have been around since forever! It's a good shape, though this one appreciates having wings. It finishes out its own form - its black feathers are also somewhat iridescent, though certainly not as impressively as Susurrus' scales - and cocks its head.]

What brings you here, young one?

( Susurrus continues taking in the form through the inexplicable link between them, watching the sheen to its feathers, lidless eyes following the movements. The snake can perceive he's in the presence of something olden in a unique way, even among Omens. )

I have been unable to ssssspeeeak thisss way. But ssssuddenly.... I have thissss voicccce.

( There's an intensity as he looks to the other Omen, something reminiscent of Paimon. Michael is a source of wisdom, and perhaps something in Susurrus was drawn to that here, too. )

Have you alwayssss been able to sssspeak?

[The Omen tilts its head. Has it always been able to speak? This is the first time it has, but then, it's never tried and failed before either.]

I haven't bothered. Michael can speak. He knows what I mean.

[When they need to communicate to one another, at least, which is only when it's out. Which isn't that often. It's fine with that. It's a piece of Michael, after all, which means that it has all the experiences he does, whether or not it's there physically as itself.]

What changed?

( The question draws another long pause of silent thought. By now, he's discussed this with Luna's Omen and made a certain sense of it, but it's still... strange, to try and put into the correct shape. )

I believe my Ssssssleeper isssss.... changing. Opening. Becausssse of thisss placcce.

( And once again, inevitably asking to the other Omen's experience— )

Hassss your Sssssleeper changed? In thissss placcce. Becausssse of thissss placcce.

[Hm. The Omen considers.]

Michael has changed a great deal in very little time. Only a thousand years ago, we were not like this. I would not have been like this. [It fixes the snake with a bright eye.] I do not think we would not be having this conversation.

[So really, it's all to the best. There's no part of Michael that really regrets or doubts what he's become in recent times. If there were, he probably wouldn't have managed to do it at all.]

Deerington changed him, a little. But this place? Not yet, not quite yet. Perhaps with more time.

( Susurrus knows some things about Michael, because Peter and Paimon do — he knows how ancient and strange and powerful a being the demon is, something that sees a thousand years as hardly any time. He knows there are probably other words for him besides "demon" at all. In many ways he's still such a mystery, and in other ways he's someone whom Peter and Paimon can relate to more than they can most others. It's all very complex, but it means that Susurrus values Michael's spirit, his Omen and its opinions, in a particular way. )

I undersssstand. Thissss placcce issss sssstill new. And it issss... different, from the Dream.

( There's a weighted pause as the snake shifts the thoughts within him into the right shape. )

Issss he..... happy, here?

( It's a different question entirely. Something that he isn't sure of in regards to his own Sleeper. )

[The bird flicks its wings a little, sort of like a shrug.]

There are joys and sorrows. It is the same anywhere. [It pauses slightly, tilting its head.] We were happy to go home after the dream. We missed our friends. But, then, we only missed our friends from the Dream instead. It has been good to see you all again. We're content.
