Oh, hey! [he hops up the stairs and catches him in the hallway.] I was hoping you were home. I wanted to talk, if you have time? Or are you busy.

[He gestures broadly, like - the couch?]

Ah, su-sure-- [he'll turn and hop back down the stairs and wait for Michael to have a seat before plopping down himself.]

I wanted to let you know Jun and I are going to be leaving the house pretty soon. Oh, and-- [he yanks the strap of his satchel so he can put it in his lap and rummage around and procure a jar of seaglass, handing it over.] I wanted to get you something as thanks for all this time, but I wasn't entirely sure what would be good for a guy who can kind of handle everything... But I found this stuff goes a long way in Willful Machine, so if you're ever in a pinch...

[He's a little surprised! By all of it, really, but he reaches out to accept the jar.]

Well, uh - thanks. That's nice. Uh...where are you headed?

Not far, actually. We're sticking around in Crenshaw, a few streets down. [he juts his thumb over his shoulder.] I can show you where it is and everything, if you like - it's not a long walk at all. It's got some more space to work with, and Jun wanted more yard to try his hand at gardening.

Yeah, sure. I wouldn't mind seeing that. Kinda sucks our yard from before didn't really carry over.

[They'd been closer to the forest then. Lots more open space.]

[he smiles in a kind of pained way.]

It's okay. It's...kind of a marvel any of it came here at all. [and admittedly, given the Riteior revelations, he's worried that it being here means they're not truly free of dreams and nightmares.]

Yeah, that's true. Probably didn't really want the trees anyway, there were always weird monsters out there.

You gonna need help moving or anything?

[Manabu utters a sound of agreement. there's plenty of weird monsters as it is, as far as he's concerned.

as for the help, Manabu rubs the back of his head, thinking.] Mmh, I'm not sure...I might need to borrow some boxes, if you have any to spare. Jun's got a lot of books stacked up in my old room.

Uh...I might have a few at the shop. I can look later.

[He hasn't had to move while living in Trench, though! So no, not a lot of boxes on hand here.]

Mn! No, no worries if you don't. I think I have enough to cover it from things at the Roost. [he shrugs, smiling small.] Most of the stuff I gotta move is from another place, not here. Thank you, though.

Yeah, yeah, of course. Just let me know.

Oh! Yeah, sure, I'm not doing anything right now.

[Manabu gets up and heads over to the door to get his boots on and lace them up.]

Oh, I also wanted to ask if you got anything from that city. The one a ways out from the Outpost?

Just some books and things. Figured it might save another trip out there one day.

[laced up and ready to go, Manabu opens the door and receives an indignant bark from his omen, who he had accidentally locked out of the house on his way in. oops.]

A couple people I talked to said they couldn't really make anything out of the texts...what about you? [maybe special demon comprehension counts for more...]

Well, I can read human languages just fine. Mortal ones, I guess - we'd have a hell of a time if we couldn't, you guys change them all around so often...

[There's not much Michael has to do to get ready, he'll just get his shoes on before coming to join Manabu.]

So most of them are fine! But there's a few that are specifically enchanted so you can't use magical translation, I can't read those ones. Had to just work on translating them like everyone else.

Did...did anything useful come out of it? [man he hopes so.]
