[Vyng doesn't do much to help ease the awkwardness, looking up at Michael expectantly, as he patiently waits for him to finish. For all he knows, his buddy likes touching crazy wild hair, and who is he to deny him that? ]

Yeah. Remember how I said my Spirit World connection goes through more "layers" here? It's kind of a side effect.

[Finally, he draws himself up to his full height.]

Anyway, crisis averted. And believe it or not, I've got a present for you.

Oh, yeah? You gonna pet me now?

That was a joke, please don't.

I mean, I could. [Spoken with a playful little smile.] ...But no. It's something a little harder than that.

[ In a more sing-songy tone, he adds:]

Close your eyes~

[He does so!]

[Something cool, weighted, with slightly sharp edges is pressed into Michael's hand.]

Okay. You can look now.

[When he opens his eyes, he'll find a pendant made of raw amethyst imbued with a soft, swirling glow reminiscent of a galaxy.]

Tada.

Oh, that's pretty!

[Michael holds it up to admire it. He's never been a Crystal Person, but he thinks they look nice; more than that, he's always been a big fan of stars.]

You're welcome. [He grins.] I'm glad you like it.

It's all from right here, pal.

[With a serene smile, Vyng taps at his heart — which houses the amethyst geode Michael's seen in all his other animal forms.]

Not too bad. Not any worse than my other powers. It's fine.

...you see how that's not comforting, right?

[Like, he is now well aware of how much your powers tend to suck for you personally!

Well, I had to make a sacrifice to give it cool powers. Think of it as killing two birds with one stone!

[A pause.]

Or maybe just watering two plants with one hose. Actually, I like that one better.

Oh, it has powers?

[He turns it over in his hands, like he's gonna find a hidden power switch or something. Don't think he doesn't have some opinions on this whole sacrifice business thing, still, but...they've kinda been through it, and he doesn't want to be rude about a gift.]

What does it do?

It gives you, like. A super-immersive pep talk. From me to you.

[Probably not most people's definition of "cool powers". But it's the thought that counts, right??]

You know, for those times Deerington is fucking around with your head? Or even if you're just having kind of a crummy day in general. An any-occasion kind of thing!

Oh, neat!

[Michael can certainly see the utility in that! Granted, he's picturing a literal recording of some kind now. When he actually uses the thing, he's probably gonna find it extremely unnerving.

But he doesn't feel the need to test it right this second, so we get to avoid that for a little while!]

[obviously it's only a deerington thing and he doesn't have any deep-baked insecurities or anything lololol]

[Yeahhhh, Vyng knows better than to point out Michael's poor self-image as justification for the gift. But still...he sees you, man. Maybe it'll come in handy. Or maybe it won't. In either case, the pendant will be there if Michael ever needs it.]

[He grins.]
