SLEEPER SCOUT BADGES


  • Home on the Strange Badge
    This badge will enable people to find their way to any location in Deerington that they personally consider "home" which can include their literal house or a loved one's house. Characters will be able to find their way "home" regardless of mental or physical disorientation/confusion (ie; vision being obscured or mind being jumbled by some psychic spell etc). It will feel like a gut instinct pulling them in the right direction.

  • Swearwolves Badge
    Characters will find that whenever they swear in emotive response after gaining this badge they will emotionally feel steadier afterward. This can help stabilize characters undergoing regular mental stress or externally caused mental stress/mental health distortions. The stability only lasts for a minute or two, but swear enough and it might just keep you sane.

  • Smile Badge
    This badge will amplify a character's physical and mental state whenever they smile in moments of intense panic/violence. This will also marginally enhance the impact of weapons or abilities (including enhancements from other badges/items). Laughter in moments of panic/violence will further amplify these things. This means punches will land harder even if they didn't intend for them to.

  • Friend Maker Badge
    This creates a potential "hive mind" where Sleepers can instinctively know what each other is thinking or about to do. This is not something Sleepers can intentionally make happen. It can help Sleepers in a fight know where to be in the right moment without even having to speak up. It can also help guide emotionally fraught moments. This will require OOC permission between players to set up how this occurs. This is not mind-reading, but rather minor predictive instincts. The stronger the relationship, the stronger the enhancement.

  • So It Goes Badge
    This will allow a character, for 24 hours after they have died, to exist in Deerington as a "ghost" version of themselves that can travel throughout town and interact with others.

  • Cryptid Club Badge
    This badge will allow characters to detect when a monster might have friendly/passive intentions regardless of a monster's appearance, and it will enable characters to more quickly detect ways to be friendly with said monsters through a "common sense" sort of feeling (ie; "how did you know that bigfoot liked strawberries?" - "lucky guess I suppose").

  • Trial By Combat Badge
    This badge greatly enhances fighting prowess. Sleepers with this badge will be more graceful and powerful in a fight. Good shooters will find that they're now great shooters. This doesn't increase strength so much as skills in a fight - regardless of Sleeper's original fighting skill set.

  • Camping Badge
    This badge will enhance a character's awareness of nature. They will be able to more easily identify poisonous plants (even Deerington-made plants) and be able to figure out their sense of cardinal direction in natural settings such as woods or caves. They will also discover that their palms are now burn-resistant and their feet will no longer slip or slide over anything. Time to go rock climbing and start a fire with your bear(lol) hands.
